need help with turbo

I need some help

I have been developing my plan for a turbo for many years. Now I am at the point where I am ready to pull the trigger :D

My plan: T3 turbo, intercooler, holley390, oz head, fuel pressure regulator

I will verify the plan and buy all the parts and then present the parts to the installer/ tuner.

My concern is they may not know anything about turbo’ing a 6 and this could result in them taking a longer to complete and poor results. This is a niche market and would prefer someone that has done this before.

If possible, I would like a turnkey outfit to install all the parts and do the tuning.

Major tasks:
Weld holley adapter plate(aluminum) to oz intake
Weld exhaust, j-tube, downpipe etc
Install intercooler and run piping
Dyno tune

While all these tasks separately seem small, my time is limited working too many hours. This seems like it would be a total of 2 weeks total at a shop.

I am in Charleston, South Carolina. Is there anyone close to South Carolina that can help me get this done? Are there any recommendations of shops that can do some or all the work?

I look forward to hearing from you!
Pete

If you have to hire a shop to do this work, the best bet is to ask guys locally that have had work done on their own cars. There is not a whole lot of difference between the work you need done on your six as compared to a small block car. If a given shop is experienced in and equipped to handle the installation of a blow through turbo setup, the engine or vehicle type won't matter much and should be successful.

There are some tuning issues that are unique to these engines, but truthfully you are better off learning them and solving them yourself after the installation and initial tune is complete. BTW, doing your own tuning on a chassis dyno is a GREAT way to spend an afternoon and learn a lot in the process.

Good luck to you!
