I can only say that the sound for my application has a deep note. Running the dual 44's with no X or H is loud. When I show up at a show people assume that I am running a built small block. Finding a exhaust set up is going to be a matter of choice and also how your motor is set up. A more built mill with a hot cam will have a more aggressive note than a stock motor. I will say that before I built up my current motor I was running a 2" exhaust single to a Flowmaster 40 and the exhaust note was deep and very mellow at cruise.
