All Small Six New Felpro Head Gasket

Howdy guys,

It seems Felpro put out a thinner MLS steel head gasket

Felpro 7916PT1

.041"-.048"

I'll be picking one up tomorrow. Since its steel, should I use copper coat on it?

That's some great news! Well you did on the Original Steel Shim Head gaskets. I am sure there will be recommendations on how it should be installed though.

That is the same fel pro printo seal gasket that has been around for at least 45 years no change that I see. Should be about .040 installed give or take a thou. It is made to seal without anything, but copper spray would be a good idea.

Isn't that gasket just a standard steel cored, with a facing material? Not a true steel gasket?
I wouldn't copper coat a composite head gasket.

According to it its a multi layer steel. The other Felpro ones i usually use are composite so thats why I'm curious abour this one

It is the best stock gasket for boost because it uses a solid steel core instead of the perforated thin metal core like on the usual composite gasket.
