New head not sure if it came off a 200 or 250

I just bought I new head at a swap meet. I was told it came off a 250. But when I checked the numbers it showed it came off a 200 or a 250. I know it is the larger head. The casting numbers are D5DE 6090 BA. Any help would be great. Right now I have a 66 head will this be a better head to install. The intake does appear to be a little larger. Ant help would be great.

Thanks Brian

The head was cast in '75 and is of the large log variety. It will have one of two log volumes, but either one will breathe much better than the early heads. The combustion chambers are 62 cc's unless they have been milled. If your short block is also a 66 and you install the newer head, your compression ratio will be way low and performance will suffer especially if you use a modern composite head gasket. You can have the head milled to bring the compression ratio back up to normal, and then you would have a better flowing head with larger valves, and larger intake and it would be a win/win, but if you install it as is you will be down on power for sure.

Thanks for the help. Now I get to figure out what I want to do and how much money to put into it.
