okies i just got a maverick with a 250 us six about a month ago.

i know small block fords like the back of my hand however when it comes to i6s i know nothing besides what i have pulled off already.

i'm just looking for some upgrades. i've looked in the the aussie head however kinda hard to get my hands on one. headers yeah seen them so no biggie.. but i've seen some adaptors for the intake for a two barrel carb (like a holley 2bbl) but i really haven't seen how this is adapted to the one barrel manifold.

i've tri carb set ups too.. but the way to set them up my drilling out the stock manifold kinda looks mickey mouse.. thats just me. i guess i'm use to bolting on something that fits.

i don't know who the idiot was who designed the manifold attached to the head thingy but that was just stupid! sorry just venting!

i'd like to do a blow though turbo with a intercooler on this puppy but first thing is the carb issue. anyone got pictures of how to convert it. and i'm talking about pictures with the carb off the manifold. i've seen plenty with holleys on them i just wanna see one with it off the car. even a webber setup would be good too!

and lastly.. how the heck do you post a picture on this forms board?

thanks

You only need to add one more hole to the intake (use the original hole) to mount a Holley 2 Bbl to it. It cost me $35.00 to have a machine shop mill the intake flat and I made the mounting plates at home on my drill press out of .5" aluminum plate.

Bolt the mounting plate to the intake and your done. Use gasket material and permatex between the plates to seal it up. You will only have to make just the top mounting plate, not the 2 shown in the picture.

I was running 2 1 Bbl carbs as an experiement at one time...

Best heads to use are a E0, D8 or a C9 IIRC....Mines an E0 that has been ported & polished and I added oversize stainless valves among other additions... :D :D

You can see more pics of it on my website.

might seem stupid to us, but think of the money saved by Ford on gasket material alone, i'd bet that it was a very very smart decision at the time

plus that gives us guys a chance to show our creative side. (by modding it up)...thats the kinda thing people look twice at.

Actually, for the purpose of designing a reliable, economical engine to power a basic transportation grocery getter, it makes a lot of sense from an engineering point of view. Much cheaper to cast, and it helps to keep the intake at a more constant, warm temperature. This is good for driveability and economy. It isn't so great for wringing the last few HP per cubic inch, however.

thanks for the warm welcome!

designing the log that way does make sence in an value way. and since in the 70's cars didn't really have any performance anyways i guess that would make sence. but 30+ years later its like... "what the?"

anyways... killer looking motor "Mustang_Geezer" don't think i'm ready just yet for that.

i think i meet someone else at a car show today thats on these boards. steven i think? you out there? anways he had a nice stang with a offy two barrel adaptor for a webber / holley and his buddy had one for a regular holley (when i mean regular i mean half of a 4150 holley.. sorry don't know part number off hand)

this is what i would like to hook up. anyone know what part number from offy is to use the regular holley 2bbl?

also it seems that you must reroute the throttle cable to the other side.. anything out there were you don't have to do that? i did this kind of throttle set up with my supercharged car and i really dont wanna do it again. i think i getting lazy with this 3rd car :D to many cars not enough arms!
