no fuel getting in the Weber 38 DGMS

As I have posted here, I have been fighting a problem with my Weber. I have tore down the carb many times, and it looks ok. My problem is that I am not getting enough fuel in the bowls to sustain running the car. Fuel pump is new, fuel filter is clean, fuel regulator seems ok. car pumps fuel out of the line fine.. I went ahead pulled the filter out of the carb to make sure it was not blocking fuel and it was not. Seems it is a float problem. The floats look ok and it moves the needle up and down freely. When fuel is in the bowls, it pumps fuel through it ok. Seems the problem is only getting the fuel into the bowls.. What an I doing wrong??

If you have the required fuel volume (from a volume and pressure test) plus your float has free movement I don't see that it would be cause of your problem, exception would be that the float is not dropping enough to allow the fuel into float bowl. To check settings, the Weber carb top is held in vertical position with the float down, don't push or apply any pressure on the needle or it;s spring. Measure the float drop it should be 51 MM gently bend stop tab to adjust on a brass float. the float height for a brass float is 41 MM for a plastic type float its 35 MM. Also if you have taken the carb off many times check that you don't have any vacuum leaks at the base and or it's adapter plate, the Webers are very sensitive to vacuum leaks. Good luck on your tuning.

Problem solved... I bypassed the redline fuel pressure regulator and car fired right up. Replaced it with a Mr. Gasket one from Oreileys and have no issue anymore.. Now time for all the clean up.
