no spark with DSII

I recently put a DSII on my car with the GM module. i did not remove the pink wire from the ignition switch. I got the car running but took out the distributor to have more room to move it (should have just change the order in the cap) but when i tried it again there was no spark. my question is that if the little time the car was on blew gm module (check coil seems ok) or if the first time i got the car running was- that by chance the coil even with the resistor gave enough power so the dsII could work. I bought a new a breakerless coil, gm module and going to run a hot 12 volt wire to the coil, but still am wondering why it does work anymore with the current setup?

Nothing you did should have killed it. Mine seems to run fine through the resistor wire. I do have a 1000cca battery so maybe thats why mine works and other people say it does not. It could be that during cranking the system voltage is too low and the first time your battery was strong enough but now its just weak enough? How did you ground the module? They ground through the body (usually one of the mounting holes has rivet like thing through it). If you grounded it through the black wire in the dizzy I could see that changing when you moved it. Also the C wire from the module should only go to the - of the coil, there should be no other connections to these unless you have a tach. If you got orange and purple wires flipped it will still fire it just does it sort of in a random place somewhere between the terminals.
