Oil burning

I ve got my new head on my car and there seems to be smoke comming out the back. I know its because im burning oil. but why would i be burning oil? The head just had a valve job and the valve stem seals are new. any thoughts?

Sometimes freshening up a head (especially if you raised the compression) on a well run engine can force more oil burning and blowby due to increased cylinder pressures on the rings.
