on my '66 mustang....all the way to the left at hot curb idle, 1/3 gauge at 60 mph.

a reliable mechanical gauge shows 39 lbs in "drive" at curb idle of 650 rpm, 50 lbs at 1500 rpm. these numbers are from a fresh oil change, 15w40 oil, frahm ph8a oil filter, engine fully warmed up, relative to outside temperature of 72 degrees. i believe these figures are within specs for the 200 engine?

3000 miles on rebuilt long block.

i have tried 3 different sending units with very small variations between them.

is is possible to calibrate the factory ford oil pressure gauge to read higher?

My first question would be... Is the gauge functioning correctly?

It sounds as if the gauge may not be functioning right. Maybe just replacing it with a know good one. You know the op is good from the mechanical gauge, you also know that the sending unit is good (Replaced yourself.) Try bone yard or resto shop, it you drive to their loc thay will let you hook one up to see the diff between yours and theirs. If theirs reads ok, then buy it.
