Below is a link to another of the Falcon Six Compact Series Race Cars that were originally run in 1960 & 1961 series, this one was built by the Holmen & Moody shop employees. Holmen & Moody built it to show what these early Falcon race cars looked like and in the pictures it shows how the chassis were setup back during that period. Since it's a Continuation car it also has the Holmen Moody build tag on it this car was used as a display for awhile.

I also came across this early Hot Rod article several years back in doing some research lots of good info showing what they were doing to the first Falcon 144 six's sometime in 1959 to get them ready for the new Compact Race Series.
Just as soon as the first 1960 Ford Falcons hit the show rooms in mid September of 1959 people started to Hot Rod and race these little Ford Falcons. But even before the cars were available to the general public three companies were busy building their performance parts for them these were Bill Strope & Associates, Eldenbrock, & Holmen & Moody. This article below also shows for the first time how a 3 X 1V carb installation was done as well as the amount of power they were able to get out of those little 144's.
Eldenbrock made their own valve covers and all three of them designed their own 3 X 1V intakes not sure if Holmen & Moody and Bill Strope made their own valve covers or had them made for them. But there were several other companies back in those days in the Southern California area that made the Aluminum fined type valve covers such as Offenhauser, Cal Customs, Edmons, and Sharpe. There even used to be a Falcon Script valve cover being made not too long back. Since the new Falcon's with their 144 Six's hit the Ford dealer show rooms in mid September of 1959 they were building parts for the first race cars probably in about the June of 1959 hard to say which was the very first valve cover made but we might only be talking about a few days or maybe a couple of weeks difference between any of the three company's involved in that first Ford Falcon racing program. The Eldenbrock valve covers show up sometimes for sale here was one that sold awhile back.

There are still new valve covers being made by Clifford's and maybe also the Offy's are being made too (I haven't checked in a long time), Offy still makes their 3 X 1V intake and Carb Linkage parts new.

And In the below link is a Group of some more of the very early Hot Rod Magazine article's on the Small Ford Six's from the 144's on up. Interesting reading to see how the old timers made some power with upgrades to their Falcons, Comets, and Mustangs back when they were brand new cars.
