anyone know about multiple carbed turbo setups? can you have one turbo feeding two carbs? i can't see any reason why not, other than twin turbos being more "trick".
The Mustang Geezer style twin carb set-up would be perfect for a turbo.
There cannot be any biased flow into the carbs, as the boost ratio drives the air speed up to above 250 feet per second at hig speed. Any small deflection produces un even filling of the two carbs.
In Jay Strores 1984 book on Propane conversions, the dual carb set-up as a blow through was very easy to do, with a very rudimentry linking header pipe with the turbo feeding air a 90 degrees.
There is some info on his website. Really good stuff with two Jimi Carter YF carbs, and a little machining to make them fit. You'll drool when you see it!
ok, that was cool! i still can't find any posts here by Mustang Geezer though.
i'm building a sheetmetal intake for this motor, so i'm essentially starting from scratch. i think for better fuel distribution i'd split the carbs up, mounting them at #2 and #5 cylinders. if i use a single turbo, i think building an airbox above the carbs and pressurizing THAT will tend to buffer out any differences, rather than tuning a forked pipe in a "double J" config.
mustang geezers site and setups are the poo..........i wonder if we could adapt the box from the paxton super charger onto the turbo and put that with 2-3 carbs onto a 200...........mustangs and fast fords did it with a carbureted engine........a 302 or 351 i think.........only with just 1 carb........the box is big enough for a holley 4 bbl and then some...........could be something to consider...........also.........could u put a funnel shaped adapter plate and use more than 2 carbs on a 200?
