are the sbc o-rings the only way to go here (in the us) ?

The machine-on type are better, but aren't the valve stems just 11/32" You should be able to get mushroom seals all day long, as a generic 99¢ part.

thanks addo, i'll just take a micrometer (and one of the old seals) to the parts store 8)

on an old 69 camaro I had, a guy put in both the mushroom and o-ring seals. I guess he thought two are better than one. the seals beat each other up. I had a 50ft. trail of blue smoke following me :roll:
