Part numbers for the 250 2v head

Hi all
I have a friend that is traveling to New Zealand next month to visit family and he offered to try to local and ship me a 250 2v head. What I need is some information on what type of cars they came on and what years they were offered. If I could get part numbers that would help. Is there a preferred model or year?

Thanks for any information

Jim

soon to have a 250 and a T-5

Pretty much only on Falcons, although some may be found on Cortinas. There were no Mercuries sold in Australia or NZ.

Heads:
ARD1DE-6049-AA, AC
72DA-6049-AA
74DA-6049-AA

Manifolds:
ARD1DE-9425-AA
72DA-9425-AA
74DA-9425-AA

But really, try to set him up with some pictures - there's nothing he could confuse it with.

Thanks for the info. Even though there were no Mercs the 250 were the same as Fords.
Will a xflow bolt to the 250?

Thanks
Jim

You really need a whole crossflow motor and bell to go that route. It'd be tough to get into the overhead lockers on an aircraft.

Australian and US motors have different oil pan widths, and block patterns. The crossflow versions changed the block width again and that's why you use the whole motor for easiest install.

HMMMMM overhead lockers, never thought about that! Maybe with the head I can have them tell the airlines it's a big block of Cheese.

Thanks again and have a merry Christmas

Jim
