Been thinking about trying to find a 250 head for my 200. Found one about a year ago but the guy wanted too much for it. Got a call yesterday from someone that happened to be in the right place at the right time. Seems as though he knew someone that had a complete 250 engine and had passed away. His family was cleaning out his parts barn and decided to send this 250 to the landfill. My friend scarfed onto the 250 and called me to let me know that he had the engine and all I had to do was unload it from his pickup into my pickup and it was mine. This engine is complete from air cleaner to drain plug and was running when taken out to be replaced by a V8. All I want from this engine is the head and carb. Anybody interested in a 250 short block. Don't know what it would be worth but it will be cheap. Rather not ship it though.

Cool! I had a similar experience with a parts car fro my other project a few years back. Saw it in the Spring and the guy wanted $1700. Waited till August and got him down to $1200. When I finally agreed to buy it just before winter, the cost was down to $500. And it ended up being the best $500 I spent on that car. Kinda makes you feel good!
