PCV Connection with 2100

Have a fresh build with the CI 2100 adapter plate attached to the intake. I PCV I believe should go to the hole in the manifold , or in the hole in the adapter plate, but what about the breather cap. This is a 78 head with the PCV in the rear, fill cap in the front. Will need to find a new air cleaner for these 2100 setup eventually but the fill cap has a hose connection on it which I would think went to the air cleaner. In trying to make sure the PCV system works correctly do I need to worry about that connection on the fill cap ?

Thanks

Yes to connection for PVC vacuum source they will all work use the one on the carb if it has it. If not use the adapter, if that dose not have it use the intake manifold. It does not matter which end of the valve cover the PVC is installed what does matter is that the breather is on the opposite end and that the valve cover has a baffle were the PVC is to keep from pulling in excess oil. Yes it’s better to use the hose hookup to the Oil fill breather connect it to the air cleaner base or side mounting this is called a "closed system", stock air cleaners also have a filter at this hookup. An open breather or "open system" will also work too, some of the first PVC systems were made that way but you will be pulling more dirt into your engine and that will cause the motor to wear out sooner, so when you can it's far better using the closed type.

Thanks very much. I assume when I get this 2100 on the intake I will have to find some type of after market air cleaner. There is the adapter and there is also what looks to be about a 1/2 brown spacer that came with it. So I figure hood clearance / air cleaner height may be an issue. Is there an aftermarket air cleaner that can address the hood clearance issue and also has a connection for the breather ?
