Hey Ya'll,
I am working on swaping over to a cable throttle and trans kick-down cable set-up and was wandering if anyone has had problems with the gas pedal? I am using a pedal out of an 80's Fairmont. Any of you guys that have done this, did you add a spacer under the carpet to help keep the pedal from burying into the carpet?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ted

I had to make a spacer to put behind the part that mounts to the firewall in order to push the assembly further out so it wouldn't hit the carpet. IIRC, it was either 3/4" or 1" thick, but yours may require a different thickness.

I installed mine in a 65 Mustang...

I cut about 3/4" off the bottom of the pedal and re-drilled the hole for the pedal and squashed the bracket in a vise...

then it mounted in there with no problems....
