I would love a couple of shots of a 2300 mounted on a 250 2v...

It would help me out to see this if anyone has something?

Anyone have one posted?

Thanks

Jimbo

Those are great....

Thanks for the link...

I wanted to see which direction this thing goes... but after I posted last night I found a diagram in the manual that shows the orientation...

I also wanted to get a peak at the linkage and fuel routing....

Yeah, that first one is my background. I had been studying all the 2300 posts and following Mustangaroo's progression. When 65coupei6 told me his worked out of the box I was convinced. Mounted it yesterday using the Lokar throttle and kickdown cables and took it out for a drive. There is no comparison, none, it was awesome, I never expected to get this kind of power. No bog, no drivability problems, an even idle.

I'm typing this Sunday morning, having just gone out for breakfast, wondering how the car would do cold. I did not engage the choke, just turned the key and bam, smooth as silk, no babying the pedal, it just goes.

I think, and I don't know crap(actually I am well aquainted but I mean about this), that the layout of the OZ head is not suited for a progessive carb in that the primary is too close to the inside cylinders. I believe this accounted for my uneven idle and my inability to run the pcv without it making the engine rough.

ps...2 5200's for sale cheap, I would not use for a OZ head but might be great on a log.

THAT IS GREAT NEWS....

Yeah I mounted mine this morning...

Did you hook the PVC line to the carb port or the manifold port?

I am feeling pretty good about this carb...

One more thing..
I bought the Holley Carb Manual and read that cover to cover (well except for the rebuild parts on carbs I have no interest in...)
and I have to say, WHAT A GREAT BOOK...not only do I now know my carb... I know how fuel delivery and air mixture are created.... I learned more from those first 30 pages....

Now that I know what the carb does it makes it easier to understand what needs done... I think the 2300 would work fine out of box... but like posted above, it could run even better once you reach 3K miles or so... I am gonna put mine on a dyno and make some fine adjustments.... but it should run fine as is.

I think a progressive carb would work fine on an Aussie 2v... but not the 5200 without some tweaking.. maybe if the rest of the engine was stock... but I think the primary would not flow near enough without re-jetting... Now maybe one of the larger Weber carbs... I did the numbers on cfm requirement for my rebuild with my cubic inches and VE... I need around 305cfm!

this carb should be perfect.
Cannot wait... plus it mounted easier than I expected... and clears the hood with a chrome air cleaner. :D

carb port definately so that it divides equally.

I keep finding reasons to go somewhere. Now I gotta get some headers that will fit!
