hey everyone, i've kinda been thinking about starting my exhaust upgrade..well at least the brainstorming part of it. i want to get the dual out headers and end them with side exit pipes. can anyone put in any info about this setup, whether it be tips, hints, things to look out for, or even prices...i really just want to get something on paper first and i would like a solid place to start. thanks a lot everyone, i know you will come through, you always do

Check out my website, you basically described my entire set-up. I got Flowmaster 50's that are inlet outlet on the same side and then 3" tips. It cost me $450 overall to do (prolly overpaid) but it is worth it to me. Like I siad, check out my page and you can see pics and all that. It will make your car sound mean, trust me

wow, thats exactly what i'm looking for...do you have an item # for those same end in and out mufflers? i cant seem to find em anywhere...did you do it yourself or did you go somewhere to have it all installed? thanks a lot, i'll keep reading up on your site (sweet ride btw)

Thanks for the compliments,
I do not know the numbers on the mufflers...I took it to an exhaust shop and they told me they would try to hunt them down. I got lucky b/c a friend of theirs had a 98 Cobra with side exhaust who bottomed out his ground effects. He figured it would be cheaper to go straight out the back then to re-do the ground effects. He sold me both for the price of 1!! Anyways, I did have to take it somewhere and I advise you just bite the bullet and pay to have it done! Its worth every penny like I said. Take a look at the tips they have too and talk to them about the angle you want. I got 3" angle cut tips mounted flush with the body.

nice car by the way.

diud you use a port divider? if so did the muffler shop put in the port divider for you? i really want header but i just rebuilt the engine and i don't want to take it apart again so soon. so i keep reading all the posts about port dividerstrying to decide if one is necessary.

thanks.

Thanks alot!
Yeah, I have the port divider in there. I took the head off to have it built up and the shop that did the work welded it in there. Alot of people say its not necessary, but I put it in there anyways, lol. They are notorious for coming loose and rattling, but mine hasnt yet...hopefully it never will! If its done right, it should stay put. If you dont want to take the head off, or no-one will do it for you, screw it, just get the dual otu header and go from there. The headers are amazing, I love it, prolly my best mod yet, it sounds good and runs hard.
