Howdy Miss:
Autolite 1100 carbs are all identical in appearance, making IDing a bit difficult. One barrel carbs very seldom have an ID tag. So, you are left with a few clues to help you narrow the process of IDing. An Autolite 1100 for you car will have a second diaphragm on the side of the float bow- opposite from the accelerator pump. The correct carb for your year should have a Spark Control Valve (SCV) on the side next to the vacuum port. If these two items are present you can be relatively sure the carb is correct for your engine.
Another variable is the inner dimension of the venturi, which cannot be seen from the outside. A correct carb for your engine should have a 1.20" venturi. 144 and 170 carbs are smaller meaning less air flow. A carb from either will work on a 200 but be down on power.
Post a photo if possible for better visual ID. Also, verify that you are working with a Load-O-Matic type distributor. In 1968 Ford made a big change to a distributor with both vacuum and centrifugal advance. In a transition era, sometimes later parts found their way into earlier years. So, check to make certain which distributor you have.
Good luck and keep us posted on what you find.
