HI. New to the board.
Just picked up a 61 Econoline pickup. It has a 144 6. Does run. But i would like to use this truck to tow my 66 mustang to the 1/8 track.
Not sure the old 144 has the guts. (might not tired yet)
Thinking a 200 or 250 will be enough power to make the pickup a car hauler.
But not sure how to id. the 200 and 250's.
I always thought 200's had 5 freeze plugs.
And found one with 5 in the bone yard. Casting number was E1obe as i recall. Guy at bone yard said 250...
Is this a 200 or a 250? Has a weird exh. Right off the exh. manifold is a large canister like thing?
And also the 200's and 250's will they bolt up to my current bell houseing in the 61 Econo pickup?
Thanks...
