Yeah, not really news. I can't believe that anybody is actually suckered into buying them...generally, you get what you pay for.
If people actually educated themselves, they would know that fans are rated at no load. When there is a load, the output goes pretty much away. You can put your hand in front of a hairdryer or leaf blower and stop all flow through it. The throttle and valves of an engine do the same thing to those "superchargers."
At least you figured it out before you wasted your money.
