Rebuild guides

Is there a good rebuild guide out there? i know there is a how to rebuild your smallblock v8 and it seems really detailed. Is there something similar for the i6 or can i use the v8 book and sort of "adapt". this will be my first rebuild ever so I need a good guide! (after i finsih the body work etc...)

Many of the basic principles are the same - bore finish, compression ratios, assembly checking. If you can get a good understanding of these ideas, then you shouldn't have any issues with the six.

Thanks! i got the hand book. it has a lot of numbers and such... haha.
I guess now it is a matter of deciding which way to go...

It's not the numbers that matter so much as understanding why they're cited.

For now, keep a running engine in it - even if smoky and gutless. you'll find one selling for less than two cases of beer. No project loses motivation faster than an unpowered vehicle.

Spend the bodywork time learning about principles behind machine process, and how to troubleshoot motors generally. It will pay you back many times over when you get onto the rebuild.
