Gday guys

Just wondering, has anyone here fitted a Redline intake manifold to a XF falcon 4.1l? If so how hard was it? Does the manifold have all the places to fit the EGR valve, PVS and vacuum lines? Did you have to do anything to make it fit - any modifications? And also, does the 34 ADM weber bolt straight on the manifold or do you need an adaptor/spacer?

Did you notice a difference in power or drivability, eg. been able to rev a bit easier?

Thanks guys

i have fitted a few redline manifolds, the last was on my brothers xf.they are very easy to fit with no mods required just get a new gasket and bolt it on,takes say 2 hours to pull off the old 1 and fit the new 1.when you buy a new 1 they have the thread already tapped into the manifold so you simply undo your conectors for the hoses/lines from your stock manifold and put them onto the new manifold, just be careful because the plastic maybe brittle(you can buy them new anyway if they break).you shouldn't have to mod anything but if you do it will be very minor.a webber wont bolt straight onto a redline manifold as there made for a holley.you can try and buy an adapter plate(round $30)but im not sure if they make them for this, they usualy make them to bolt a holley onto a stock manifold.i heard of a person who got a webber gasket put it onto a redline manifold and marked the holes and drilled and tapped a thread into the holes so he could bolt the webber to the redline manifold,he said just make sure theres enought meat to tap a tread into so it doesn't strip.i like the sound of this as i like the webber carb and i belive the stock xe/xf manifold is way too restrictive.they make a noticable difference to power and you can realy feel them pull harder so i highly recomend putting 1 on.i like holleys too so a holley matted to 1 is even better for power and a 350 is quite reasonable on fuel.i think i have covered most of it but im happy to answer anymore question if you have them.

yeah... So does it have all the fittings for the EGR valve and stuff? What stuff do I have to ditch off the standard XF manifold? I was told theres a fair bit of things that don't go on the redline manifold that you will have to rip off and not use???

Someone on ebay is sellin one with an adaptor made up... I might have a look around see what I can find... So definant power increase?

I'm wondering what would do more power, thermo fan or this...

:?:

yes it has holes for vac lines and the erg valve.just pull it off your old one and put it on the redline.i just had a look at my xf engine and a redline manifold i have and i can't see any reason why you can't put everything back on if you spend a little time, thats if you want to?i have 4 of these motors here at my place and i have eveything hooked up to my redline manifold,i like to have it all neat and tidy.yes there is a definant power increase and you wont have to change your fan cause a manifold will not make your engine run any hotter, the only thing it will do is put a smile on your face.just a word of warning if you buy 1 make sure it has the holes for the water conectors on the side under where the carb goes(xd alloy manifolds didn't have them like the xe/xf,well the xd 1 i had didn't)this way all the water lines go on as nornmal, they stick out so you can see them when there on the car so you will see them on any pic.

i just had a look at the manifold on ebay,it doesn't seem to have the holes for the water lines(maybe they didn't have them,i can't be 100% on that 1)my redline manifold for a 250 cast iron head has them but my 4 barrel alloy head hasn't)anyway thats easy to fix just buy a "T" piece for 1 of your heater hoses and you can hook it up no probs and won't affect the car at all.i wonder if he has anymore of those adapter plates?i want 1 myself lol.if you got the bucks i'd go for it!

Yeah

I'm more so looking at thermo fan for more power also, apparently they goive alot more accelration because the engine doesnt have to push a big ugly fan? is this true?

You wouldnt happen to live in Canberra would you?

no i live in qld,yes a thermo fan will give you more power and better cooling especialy in traffic(although being in act you probably dont need it)i think you save 5-10 hp.if you dont have extractors and a 2 1/2 inch exhaust, this is the best way to gain good hp for little cash.i'd go this if you aint got it!

I've got extractors and exhaust... thermo fan would be a good idea yeah for more power?

Waiting for cam to go in.. just have to wait for my father to install :(

good to see the ute coming together fordz. Bet you cant wait to get that cam in :)
