All Small Six Regulator clicking often

my regulator clicks every couple seconds I’m wondering if that is normal

Probably nothing to worry about. If you have a volt meter, you will probably notice a blip in the voltage at the same time. The regulator is mechanical, contacts opening and closing

Hi, as mentioned, the older voltage regulators have mechanical contacts that open and close to regulate the current in the charging system. Later on, I don't remember, but it must have been in the 1970's, Fords came with an electronic voltage regulator that is practically bullet proof. The electronic regulator is a direct bolt in, with the same plug, and many guys will just use the newer regulator on the older cars. Good luck
