Good, simple write up. It's literally as cheap or expensive as you want it. Mine was a little more since I splurged for a high end MSD Digital 6+ since I had a path in mind that required it. Goes back to my road map suggestion. I'm soon going to be pulling the MSD Digital 6+, basically losing the money spent on it. You can either go with the GM module listed on that write up, or a cheap MSD 6 box (check craigslist or ebay).
Can't answer about the tach. I think you may need something else to have it work. Some MSD boxes have Tach output options.
