On this engine the camshaft gear is just bolted to the camshaft. There is a dowel pin in the camshaft which goes in the keyway of the camshaft gear.
To remove the dowel pin, heat the area of the camshaft around the dowel pin with even a propane torch & a pair of vise grips can easily remove the dowel pin from the camshaft. William
I don't know--but I didn't even have to heat up the dowel and shaft---I just clamped on with the smooth part of my vise grips and gently tapped the edge of the grips with a finish nail hammer--and the pin came right out. I didn't grip it so hard as to marr the dowel---just enough to keep it from slipping off.
