Ok, had my machine shop price a full build.
Block cleaned, bored 52 thou, honed, new cam bearings, new welsh plugs, and deck trued.
Head trued, new valve guides, new valve seat inserts, new stainless oversize vlaves, port and polish, 3 angle valve job and clean up of the chamber.
Crank crack tested, re-ground, chamfered and balanced.
305 chev aftermarket forged rods and pistons for 8:1 comp
All bearings, seals and gaskets to suit
This came to $3200.
I know this is a good price but was wondering if the 4.0L OHC rods with prep and arp's could handle 500hp at the crank? This would be cheaper and also cheaper for the piston I would imagine
Anyone know what they can handle. Not planing to turn over 5500RPM if i can help it
