Anyone know the sizes for all the ford 6's??

Im hearing the OHC rods can be used in the 250 xflow as they are the same length.....

reason im asking is there are H beam rods for the 4ltr OHC and BA DOHC....so if they the same size as the 250 xflow rods, should be able to use them right???

I carnt give u exact sizes, but 250-el ford sixes run the short rod, Late eL/AU/BA run a long rod, like a 200 :>.. So the BA rods should fit but u will have to run a pistion either suited to a BA(depending on deck height) or a custom one... Acl long rod pistions might even fit ( but i dont know if these like boost

Sorry can't remember the exact sizes but EB-BF share the same bore and stroke but the rod in the AU onwards is shorter with the gudgon pin location in the latter engines being lower in the piston. I was thinking about the same thing when looking at rebuilding my EF Turbo engine, but it was going to require custom pistons to make it work.

The au rods are LONGER than Pre AU engines. Au engines run a rod/piston very similar to a 250 with 200 rods..

the 250 had 5.88" rods
the 200 had 6.27" rods
the au had 6.00" rods
and the ea-eb-ed-ef-el had 5.88" rods.
go to fordsix home then tech and scroll down and look at aussie six complete history. then scroll down to the end and all the six info is theire. cheers

Got a 250 the other day and its got a set of TRW rods in it they are not std 250/200 rods all they have are TRW stamped on them thay are std length. Any ideas??

they are standard rods. ford used these from about 1986 on. they are stronger and will be a good option for a x-flow or 4.0lt. cheers

ive heard the TRW story but only with EF rods. Ill have to check my spare 250rods i have now..... where abouts is the TRW stamped???

hey look my first post..

whats the TRW rod story?? i have my EF XR engine pulled down so it would be hard to check this out..
