: I have a 200 out of a '78 and i have the later bellhousing of course. Right now i have the 3.03 tranny in it. It is a '66 mustang. I have tried the 4 cyl. t-5 and i did not like it b/c i put 5 clutches in the thing in a 8 month period because i was sold an adapter plate that wasnt machined properly which failed to align the tranny to the engine correctly. Later on this year or early nextI am planning on putting a 289 with a 3 speed and maybe later a 8 cyl. t-5. So back to the question at hand. I need the specifics on how to convert from the 3.03 to the s-rod(its essentially the same gearing but with a fourth, overdrive gear). I need pilot bearing numbers, throw out bearing numbers, if there are any i need instructions on how to modify the bellhousing to fit,any modifications to the transmission tunnel, basically, i need to know all of the details on converting a '66 mustang with a '78 200 with a 3.03 to an s-rod transmission out of a mustang II. :
Its a post in the Drivetrain and Suspension section under 4spd Tranny Install Help. I wrote it. I used to have an SROD in my 65 with a 200 but now I have a 250 and a T5.
