Sad Sad Day at my house

Well about 5 months ago I picked up a nice litte Mav. that had a 200 and a c-4 in it. It ran and drove when I got it. I planed on rebuilding the 200 and the C-4 for my wifes 63 Flacon vert. She has a 170 that is all but dead.
I tore into the 200 today, and the block is cracked
Right behind the water pump on the left hand side through the head bolt.
Looks like I will be on the hunt for a good 200.
Or we may just rebuild the stocker in stock form.
I had planed on pumping the 200 up just a bit. Cam, new set of sluggs. I already had the C-4 rebuilt. Just need to pick up a new tork converter.

To bad I am out $200.00 for the Mav.

Sorry to hear that. You should be able to sell off parts that you don't need and easily make the $200 back, no to mention other items that can be scavanged for the Falcon.

what year is the maverick? i could easily see someone making $200 of a parts maverick or selling wats left of it for that much

The maverick was a 74 and beat to heck. I striped the front brakes Motor/trans and rear end then let the scrap guy have the rest.
The Brakes made there way to a 63 Fairlane 500 sport.
And the motor is junk...
