there's a screw on the carb that you can't reach with a screw driver b/c it's upside down on the driver side of the car. what does that do? my car is like jumping everytime i stop. i stop completely and it just jumps and the rpm drops a little when it does it. what could the problem be? it's really annoying. thanks

by the way it's the stock one-barrel and the reason i ask is because i messed with the screw and a day and a half later it started this ****. but i was wondering if anybody else had this problem and fixed it.

I think you're referring to the throttle stop screw, which keeps the throttle butterfly from closing completely and jamming. Did you alter any other adjustments? This one screw should play no role if your regular idle speed adjustment screw is adjusted correctly. You need to get your hands on a book that tells you step by step how to adjust the carb. A carb rebuild sheet would also help. Several of the adjustments need to be done in the correct sequence.

Actually, it sounds like you are talking about the choke idle screw. The throttle plate screw you can reach pretty easily. At least that is the way it is on my 1100.

you can reach it but you have to use a rench or angled screw driver. can someone tell me how to adjust the carb?

OK, you are referring to the "High Speed Idle Screw."
When the choke is closed, a stepped cam moves into place under the subject screw. For most carbs, there is a little arrow head stamped into the side of the cam. Otherwise, set the screw on the second step of the cam, and screw in or out to get the speed specified in tune-up specs as "High Speed Idle." It should be 1500 to 1800 RPM.
