sheet metal intake for xflow?

well I came to the conclusion that a new plenum on the XFlow might be needed to clear the shock tower braces and to solve the throttle issue. I will be tossing together a crude "runner" to get something in the car (a hacked out carbon steel intake) but I am looking into either an Aluminum one or a composite intake. I haven't really done any serious composite work (like making molds and the likes) so I will continue to investigate it.

ive made a few steel intakes fro 2vs and one for blown crossflow. I cant see any reason not to use steel, its MUCH easy to make at home, no TIG welder is neede and the weight save with alloy is about as much as a good poop. You can get all sorts of sections to use and mandrell bends etc. I made my blower manifold from 100 x 50 RHS with 2mm wall, I turned up the runners from hollow bar and will weld it all together.
Supercharger manifold dont have to be too fancy.

so I was thinking like 5/16 - 3/8 on the flange and some 18ga runners. I need to find a large piece of exhaust tubing to make the plenum with I guess.

8mm laser cut flanges is the go, Ive had some done and If Ive able i could dig out the cad drawing, 18ga is ? We only work in mm, around 2 mm is minimum is my view, Ive used the manifold (with bracing) to support the blower and its belt loads.
The Crossflow inlet ports are 36mm and you need about 2,5mm wall thickness to do it. I put flanges on the ends of my plenum? to allow for internal cleaning and finishing, also it helps the platers to drain out the pickling solution.
The flanges for blower etc Ive used 6mm on top of the RHS plenum.
Hope this helps
