SIX CYCLE ENGINE !!!!

Basicall it is Crower(of Crower Cams) that has experimented with modifying a 1 cyl direct injection engine to have a normal 4 stroke gasoline cycle(via carb I think) and added another up and down stroke that is basically a water/steam expansion and exhaust stroke. WHat happens is that after the normal 4 cycles he uses the direct deseil injector to inject water into the hot combustion chamber and uses the resulting steam to create anothe expansion stroke. It serves 2 purposes. 1. Harnesses energy that is readily available and usually spent via the radiator 2. It cools the engine drastically reducing cooling requirements.

My own thoughts arethat it is a brilliant idea if it is refined. The second is that the military has working projects that condense the water escapes in the exhaust as steam. It is a natural product of burning hyrdo-carbons. If you used that to keep the water injection system fed, you could make not filling up a water tank neccessary. This is great stuff. Now the question, can it be implement ed and be cost effective!

Looks promising :D
