so, just what are these engines capable of?

i've had a 200 and a 250 in the past and while they were good engines, i never thought of them as more than a boat anchor. I've always been your typical "just stick a v-8 in it" kind of guy until recently.
i went out and bought a turbo 4 car and found out that you can get a lot of scoot out of a small engine
how much horsepower will the bottom end on one of these hold?
i'm thinking of the futuer here, i envision a 23 T with a 250 or maybe a 300 in it.
or maybe i'll find a nice camaro to put it in instead, i think a blkue oval would look good in there

My 250 base motor is now close to 500hp at the wheels, a 300 base motor has a better stock head and more cubes, guess it all boils down to how much you want to spend and how long you want it to live.
