So in short what do i need to do to run this cam?

I think you'll need a 2600-2800 RPM stall, rated for a six. To fit the C4 you need to either slot the mount holes inwards at the crank, or redrill a BW flexplate (untried, but should work) for a C4 converter. Don't forget the later style tranny mount.

Yeah, there's a 6 cylinder C4 that some people will call a C-9 or something. You need the unbalanced flexplate off a six, too. Inspection cover is the same as a manual. You in Oz or NZ?

Suggest you try a mockup with a BW flexplate in the C4 bellhousing, see if it works. I would feel personally happier about redrilling further from the centre than I did when slotting the six mount holes inwards 1/8".

Pretty straightforward overall but you will chase a few parts and tickle up some others, specially if choosing a column shift.

Cheers, Adam.

Go and see Danny in Thomastown (Early Bird) if "xdee" can't get the parts. The B&M is cool until you start taking your car to the shops. Three point turns and reverse parks drive you nuts with a ratchet shifter.

I'd be using a c-series flex plate and re drill the crank mounting holes. The centre boss is the same on the rear of the 221 crank so its not like you could really muck it up too much. For insurance you could use a spreader plate off a cleveland as well, doing the same mod.
The so called C9 is a V8-type C4/10 with the bigger input shaft and oil pump drive, mounted on a 6 cyl bell. I think they are fully manualised as well. I'm not sure if the 8 cyl converter will fit in the 6 cyl bell so it may be a matter of having a custom converter made up. Most turbo X-series owners run C9's but still manage to destroy them.
The flex plate isn't unbalanced Adam, it's zero or neutral balanced. Just me, an engine balancer being pedantic
I'm just around the corner from you 64XM. Work from home in Kilsyth, and part time at Just Falcons/Kilsyth Parts. Is your car matt black?

hey thanks for the help,
my car is multi colour atm but i think i did see the matt black one you are talkin about it is really high at the bak?
