Some More timing chain install questions

I was checking some old threads on installing the timing chain and one comment was to use a tool to install the harmonic balancer, what is this tool. Can someone verify- the marks on the gears point towards each other when installing I believe I saw that somewhere here but can't find the thread. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

You can make or buy you a balencer installer. You make one from a large bolt with a long threaded section a nut and a large washer. It just ends up pusing the balencer on. The nice part is that they push usually straight on.

As far as the marks go if it is the same as a 240-300 yes the marks are pointing at each other. This method will put you at TDC on #1, HOWEVER I can't remember if you are on the compression stroke or the overlap stroke on #1.

Are you saying that just tightening the bolt up doesn't push the balance'r on far enough? If it needs to be pushed on farther I assume the bolt that is there could be used with a spacer that would just push on the damper pully.

I just use the bolt and washer to draw it up and tighten with a torque wrench (85-100ft/lbs).
If it tightens to torque then it should be fine. If it tightens to torque without seating itself I think there would be something wrong. I also put a bit of anti-seize on shaft.
