Spark valve on 1100?

Can anyone tell me what year the spark advance/control valve was removed from the 1100 carb?

I've got an 1100 that doesn't have the spark control. The casting/knot/lump (whatever) is there, but there is NO provision for the valve. (and no it hasn't been filled in with JB weld)
The brass carb tag reads:

C6OF 9510 G
A6CA

I've always had trouble with this carb and getting it tweaked on a 66 engine. Of course the tag could have come from any number of places, and may not even belong on the carb. I've rebuilt this carb a couple of times in the last several years and always wondered about the spark valve. Maybe it's not even an 1100  . It sure looks like one in detail schematics in every aspect BUT the spark valve.

So, was the spark valve phased out in later years?

Thanks for the reply.

I imagine IF I had a 68+ carb (non spark valve) coupled with a load-o-matic dizzy <pre-68>, the engine would not be getting enough advance at higher speeds causing poor engine response, warmer than average engine temps, and pinging?
Obviously, problems I've been chasing for many years.

Yes, this combination could definitely cause the problems you are describing. Are you interested in trading this carb for a SCV version?
