Question, is that a 2 inch single pipe coming out of the header going to a stock muffler? Sounds almost a bit restricted when you increase the rpms, is that to keep it quiet since it is a convertible?

You wrote that you had to rework the collector header and the throttle linkage. So what did you do? I can't tell from the pics.

That dashboard restoration is fantastic. What a cool car.
 
For the collector, i have to redrill larger 4 holes and to cut 4 "ears" touching the engine block :

Looks like you cut and re-welded the arm. I did a heat and bend.

They never tell you about that on the instruction sheet.

Yes that what i do. Your soluce is probably better.

I don't know. Looks like you can weld. I can't. And I messed up the first throttle linkage arm and had to get another to replace it. PLUS my car doesn't look nearly as nice as yours.
