today i tried to start my mustang up and all i got was this weird buzzing noise, something was moving, but the car would not start. i know its the starter, but something i did not realize when i rebuilt the engine was that the header wraps around the starter. how much trouble is it going to be for me to get that thing outta there?? anyone out there have any ideas? any help is more than appreciated.

Thanks
Scott

On my 65 I was able to get it out from underneath the car. The hard part is putting it back in. Hope you lift weights :)

Make sure all the connections are tight frist and then load test the batterie.before removing the starter.

This is a very common problem. Make sure all the connections are clean. I won't lie...its a bitch to get the starter in and out with the header in place...I am assuming you mean a dual outlet header. Before you remove the starter, check all the connections (battery cables and starter relay to starter cable).

8) i agree with the others, check your connections, and battery condition first. then consider replacing the starter solenoid on the fender panel before you do anything with the starter.
