All Small Six Static/Dynamic/Quench

This relates to all small sixes
Those aren't the right set of Rods to use the correct ones will measure at 5.99 center to center long I would send them back. By the way Lavrons Rods were the right 5.99's and they fit into his 250 Six block perfectly.
I started another thread on the rods. I ordered the ones from clegg, using the link in Lavrons thread. Application is 2.5 hsc. They have the "correct" number. I spoke with Clegg, the company who remanned the rods, and the core supplier. Those ARE what everyone are ordering. There is 1 left in Texas and it measures 6.045. There are 4 left in Denver but I didn't bother calling. 20230226_111638.jpg

If that is the case than you would need to use the stock 250 replacement Pistons at a 1.5 Compression height instead.

Then I would need to mill a huge dish. I have 1120 pistons on hand, and I believe the 3332h are of better construction. Rods accepted 2.5 hsc bearings and fit fine. I have one assembled with .910 wrist pin to perform all my measurements.

With a FelPro Composition Head Gasket it wouldn't hurt if the Pistons were at +.010 Proud above the block Deck for a .040 Quench Distance than also don't Mill the Head Deck quite as much either.

Those aren't the right set of Rods that they sent you, the correct ones will measure at 5.99 to 6.00 center to center long, I would send those back. By the way Lavron's Rods were the right ones 5.99's there used to be lots of pictures showing all this (now missing since he passed away a couple years ago) and they fit into his 250 Six block perfectly with only a light .010 Block Deck cut for a Zero Deck. Rods were E63E-B1A from a 2.5 Liter HSC/HSO Taurus 4 cylinder rod is 5.990" long. He then used with those the Silvolite 3332H pistons .030 oversized, dish measured 2.843" and .276" deep (equals 12.863cc) the Compression height = 1.530.
Need to correct some information in Lavrons build. Do the math, check UEM website. 3332H are 28cc dish. He INTENDED on using those, however they ended up above the deck per his machinist. They ordered stock pistons and dished them...3332h_Pair-1.jpg

Yes that's a quite a short fall in the sizes! I wonder what those 2.3 L HSC engines Rod length is?
