An alternator for test condition is only going to be drawing about 4 amps = 48 watts (0.064 hp) and even pumping 1.8 l/s, a water pump only uses about 120 watts (0.16 hp).

Good point... I am just trying to start figuring out what an appropriate mass flow rate for a near stock or lightly modified 200 is. We have managed to bound the problem I suppose as somewhere above 55%. Short of setting up a MAF and taking some measurements (which is a perfectly appropriate thing to do, btw) I'm not sure if we are going to do much better.

That log really sucks... lol.

Yet the original torque figure I quoted, was a 200 from an XM Falcon (circa 1964)
