Stock fuel pump pressure

Anyone know what the fuel pressure is out of a stock 200 mechanical fuel pump?

Since I keep reading everywhere that my Weber 32/36 likes around 3 - 3 1/2 pounds of pressure, I am trying to decide if I should put a regulator on the line before I try and tune the carb.

Also, should I try and tune the carb and then add my Ignitor II and Flamethrower II or upgrade the ignition and regap the plugs before tuning the carb?

Tune the carb later because you will get more complete combustion of the existing fuel once the Pertronix is installed. It will rev higher at idle too and need to be turned back. Start the fire first, then adjust the fuel.

My pump is a stock replacement. Last week I measured 5.5 psi. I too have wondered about putting on a fuel pressure regulator. I have a book on Weber carbs by David Emanuel that mentions 3 to 5 psi. Since I do not apppear to have any ill symptons, I figure 5.5 psi may be close enough.

I was thinking that I should put in the Ingnitor first, since one of my problems (as indicated in the 272 cam + auto tranny = high stall torque converter post) is my carb running way too rich.

Like you said Ludwig, the Ignitor privdes more complete combustion so that may help the rich condition, right?

However, I was afraid that adding the Ignitor was adding one more variable to an already confusing problem... The same goes with the fuel pressure regulator...
