200ci STP oil additive

This applies only to 200ci
Just wondering what the consensus is out there for STP oil additive. I am about to change the oil on my 66 Ford and used to use this all the time when these cars were our daily drivers in the 70's. Also 10-30W or 10-40W for summer driving?

It is not good to use additives in today’s oils. Putting additives in today’s oils offsets the chemistry balance which could accelerate engine wear. One sign of oil chemistry balance affected by additives is oil foaming. If you want zinc in oil, buy an oil formulated with zinc in it. This was mentioned in the clip in post #2.

Here as another good clip.

I did not know that. Thanks for the information.

Yes, just make sure to change your oil more frequently. Lake Speed Jr. mentioned in his videos that racing oil has to be changed more frequently than conventional high zinc oils. I read that users are doing 1,500 mile oil changes. It’s a good oil for racing applications.
