:D I am stuck using the 170 engine in HA/GR,but for strength will use the 7 main '66 and newer block. I'd like to stroke it with a 200 crank and get an extra 15 to 20 cid. I will be Hard Blocking the 170 block to within 2" of the deck and will run coolant only in that 2" and the head. So a 60 over bore will not be a problem. Are there any off the shelf pistons and rods to use to build this stroker. I read something about a 188CID Stroker put could find no info on it. I'm building on a budget so making off the shelf parts work is the key. I was looking at using aftermarket pistons for the Ford 2.6 as the bore and compression height is close. Stock (2.6) is 3.545 to the 170's 3.5 or a .045 over bore. Compression height is 1.546 on the 2.6 and the 200's is 1.511 so I'd have to mill .035 of the top, Less if I run a Zero deck height.
Has anyone done this with a 170?

Dutch, for some good reading click on Search and type in the number 188 then hit the search button, tons of stuff to read about stroking and destroking the small 6.

I'm useless on this topic but grab yourself a cold one and a bowl of popcorn and start reading anything by Execute (Deano), Drag-200 has some excellent input also. (not that the rest of you don't contribute but those boys sure like to disect an engine)

I was looking under 188 and read about the 187. It used a 170 block and a 200 crank with a 90.42MM Piston. My Questain is who made the 187? and were do I find 187 Pistons? Last ? is what rod did the 187 use. :D
