Summer semi-Restoration advice

Ok so i bet everyones excited about summer ---> more time to fix up our cars how we really want .. anyways, i really want to build up a new engine, but i want to keep it somewhat original....
its got the stock I-6 right now (i think its the 200) and i know theres some stuff you can do to to give your inline some kickkk.. i guess i was just pretty much wondering: what are my options if i wanted to build up a new 6 ??.. and if you guys could let me know whats worked for you... thanks

^^^^ i bought this about a year ago...yeah... thats my stang ..ok so im only 17 ---> my parents told me to buy a honda so i could save my money... :x :x ehh??? nope.. haha...but anyways i reallllyy wanna fix this thing up and i want it to run as good as it looks please let me know what i can do..

how invovled do you want to get? pulling the motor or just basic stuff?

the first thing i would do is upgrade the ignition to the duraspark II distributor, i'm using an MSD 6A box with mine and it runs great

how good are you with basic mechanic stuff?

i was actually thinking about building up an engine with my uncle bcuz mine is kind of shady..umm heh .. i probably wouldnt be the best mechanic. but ive heard from a couple people that-- one of my rods may be sticking... ?? or something to do with one of the rods.. so im actually pretty much clueless as to whats going on with my car..
