I still need to sort out a sump for my pre Xflow build. Is it worth getting a baffled sump or somehow baffling it myself?
Ill be driving it through hilling windy roads pretty much most of the time.
Also im having trouble getting onto the fordsix shop site, is anyone else?
Thanks Steve

cortina sumps are usually pretty good as there a rear sump, when your moving the oil is pushed backwards.however there is always room for improvment and i have also looked into them.high energy make a cortina sump on exchange basis.if you have a mig and want to give it ago its not that hard to make a eared/winged sump much like the phase 4 disign and easy to also weld in a baffle plate.i suppose the high energy would cost around $400 but you could make 1 for nothing with some scrap steel.

we are just getting a sump done at the moment for our 250 from high energy,
has the usual baffles, crank scrapers and holds 7 1/2 litres of oil
that was using our old sump too.

i think its about $310 ill let you know when we pick it up.

:D cheers for the info guys. Do you think its really worth it?
Ill look into the high energy stuff.
Ive spent money evrywhere else on the motor the only thing i cheaped out on was going for a 500 instead of the 4 barrel as i didnt want to bother with clearence and cutting up a 2V manifold.

standerd corty sumps are all ready baffled.
depends are you going on to a race track then go high energy.
if just for street id make one up my self.
easily done.
take a sump to a sheet metal joint and say you want a box made up 25mm wider each side with a panel folded over the top to come in 50mm each sideto help trap the oil in the resivor.
and probly about 50-75mm high.

yes your right,i forgot they do already have a baffle in them.most of the speedway guys up here reckon theses nothing wrong with the stock sump?

Cheers guys. Too think i never new bout the baffles. Ive pulled down 5 or 6 of these things
And if its ok by the speedway guys then its gonna be fine with me. Cheers Steve
