What's the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger? About how much money does it cost to get one (the better one, either the turbo or super) for a decent one (or like mustanguroo)

they're basically the same thing, a SC runs off of a belt driven pulley, but a turbo runs off of exhaust gases

as for which is better.... that's a whole 'nother can of worms
just dig through the posts, you'll find several threads going on and on about the differences, and the pros and cons of each

so .. i mite be wrong, would it be possible to put both a supercharger and a turbocharger on a 200ci?

oh you could
but there wouldn't be much of a point, the time, expense, and the plumbing.... you could do it, but that would be something you'd do to a show only car
besides, you could probably get more power, more reliably from only one of them

The actual turbo or supercharger on a do it yourself project is usually only about 5-20% of the entire cost of the system. Making the turbo/super charger work, making the engine perform, and stay in one piece is the other 80-95% of the cost.

If you are really interested, a good book on the subject is invaluable. Amazon.com has quite a few.
