T-5 behind a 1960 f-100 223 engine

Hi guy's, Now that I have started asking questions it seems I have more I want to know.
I now have a T-5 Trans. that came out of an 84 T-Bird. It is a 13-52-018 23721. I' not sure of all the gears ratio. 2.37 fits into the ratio somewhere and I believe .86 is the overdrive. I have found that is not a world class model. Where can I look to find out the rest of the ratio? But I am thinking for the price it will work for a while, ($20.00) It is all in good shape I have opened it up to see. Question: Is John Mummert's conversion the best way to go or is there other places that make the same type conversion for the T-5 behind the 223. I have now a 1960 F-100 with 223 and a T-98 trans. I also am running a 3.73 rear axel. What do any of you think of this combo. Ya think it will work out OK? As always any infor good or bad is appreciated. :thanks:

Thank you JimKoz, I was wondering about that. I thought I had to have a three speed bell to send for core. Now I know. I will be talking to him on Monday. Thanks Again. :thanks:

for your ratio stuff

if you search for "T5 identification" on google, you might be able to find the max torque rating

Thanks Aza, I have been trying to remember that British site. I have seen it before. I am still wondering if I will like what I have when it's done. I will do some surching and see if I can figure what me rpms will be in fith gear. I think take off will be fine with the 4.03's

i seem to remember a fair amount of people recommending something around 3.5-3.75 or so for a rear-end, but that was for a Mustang or Falcon with a T5
don't forget to factor in tire size, especially if you're going to upgrade your rubber for something a different size

Thanks I will keep that in mind. Right now I found out that mummert only converts the 3 speed bell with the pick/up mounts. So I am looking for a 3 speed bell. For now everything is on hold until I can find one. Still have plenty of other things to do. I have the whole front end appart getting it cleaned up for paint. No problem. If anyone out there knows of a bell I looking for let me know. I am ready to do this.
Thank again Asa
