Taking engine to shop...

Tomorrow I'm going to start tearing apart my motor. It's a 200. I don't really dont want to do block mods but if it's better in the long run I will. I just want to work with the head. Is there anything I should know before I start or what I should or shouldn't do? Thanks.

I'm not sure what your plans for the head are or how many miles you have on the engine. If you are going increase the head performance I would look at bottom. Increasing power over a tired bottom could have you doing the block anyway in the middle of the summer when you most want the car. Putting a milled head on an undecked block is iffy as well. When I did mine thinking my engine was good we found a lot of sins that would surely have caused major problems. Now I have virtually a band new engine.
