One more thought after my last post...Took delivery of the Falcon Six Performance Handbook today..I've been reading all these posts about how you gotta have this book...Well, all you other new guys like me who are just learning about this addictive hobby, passion, whatever, Get this book. It is anything but fancy looking, but it is filled with tech facts, tips, performance hints, etc.....I wont be getting anything done at work the rest of the week, Ill be learning about how to massage more than 120hp out of my toy. Seriously, again if your a newbie like me, do yourself a favor and educate yourself about this unique lil' motor we have come to love to tinker with. My two cents

Glad you liked it. I hope you don't get fired.

The whole "book" started off with my youngest son Ryan ('62 Falcon 144) and my oldest son Eric ('65 Ranchero 200) told my brother and me to start writing down some of the "stuff" we knew for getting a few more horses out of the six.

So Dave and I did start writing - the original 20 pages, no pictures, has grown to 96 pages and about as many pictures.

We have considered making it into a bound book like a HP Books, but then there would be no room for any more changes. Every time we learn something new or fine an error of fact, we make the changes. We keep going to the junk yards and learning new stuff.

Good Luck and remember Anybody can have a V/8

I still gotta order a copy. It should make for nite table book to read before I go to sleep and dream.

I forget how long I've had my copy of their handbook, and I remember helping the Schjeldahl's with some editing a long time ago, BUT, I want to point out there's one other book that's worth every penny - a shop manual. Not a Chiltons or Motors, but a bona fide shop manual. Available from numerous sources in reprint paper or CD-ROM. When the simple things don't work, it's where you find the info to test and repair. 8)

8) aint nuthin wrong with that boy, be proud to be a sixer!

I second the shop manual. While the performance good has some good ideas to get you rolling and figure out somethings, my shop manual is like my bible for my car. Again, not Chiltons or Haynes, but the real shop manual.
